7801- New Volunteer and Staff Training Orientation is designed to provide new employees and volunteers detailed information on Red Cross history, mission, and Fundamental Principles. In addition, an enrollee will be provided information about the local community and the services the Chapter provides in the community. This Course is provided free of charge.

Have you ever seen a Red Cross, Disaster Relief volunteer on the television and thought I would like to do that? This is the training that will enable you to do this type of work. Disaster Volunteer Training is provided to volunteers to enhance their knowledge and their abilities to assist members of the community that have been affected by a disaster. Each course is provided free of charge and when complete, the enrollee will have an understanding and ability to function in the applicable Group and Activity in a Disaster Relief Operation.
Introduction to Disaster Services
The purpose of this basic level Disaster Services online course is to engage and inspire the public to actively participate in supporting American Red Cross disaster response. This course will introduce learners to American Red Cross Disaster Services and allow them to discover how volunteers support this critical mission and to explore ways they can become involved in a local chapter. Community Services: An Overview
The purpose of this basic level Disaster Services training is to provide an overview of the activities performed by the Community Services group in support of a disaster relief operation. These activities include Bulk Distribution, Feeding, Sheltering, and Community Programs. To attend a class Contact the office.
Fundamentals of Disaster Assessment
The purpose of this training is to provide an overview of the concepts, procedures, tools and resources used to enable Disaster Assessment workers to assess and verify disaster caused damage. To attend a class Contact the office.
Client Casework: Providing Emergency Assistance
The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the Client Casework activity. The participant will learn the skills and tools needed to conduct an effective client interview and explain and provide Red Cross emergency disaster assistance to clients. To attend a class Contact the office.

General Information Classes are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our office must receive all requests for registrations no later than one week prior to the start of the class. Many other courses are available – if you don’t see one listed just ask! Contact the office if you would like to register for an upcoming course.
